One of the new pieces of information about the EAB is the so-called “exponential death curve”. The curve shows how infestation starts slowly, but at a certain point suddenly becomes very destructive.
It progresses slowly for 6-8 years, killing around 10% of ash trees. But 2 years later this rises to 20%! Then by another 2 years is at around 80%, and after 2 additional years is at 100%.
